Consultative Work For Global Professional Body

Written by: Julian Harrison
Overview:
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is hugely influential within the property sector and has a significant role to play in the design and promotion of best practices and building standards.
Whilst building standards have continually evolved to accommodate sustainability, energy management, resilience, and efficiency they are fundamentally based on technical, tangible, objective parameters.
Over the past 10 years the FM sector has changed its focus from the technical performance of buildings to the impact of the facilities environment on people; workplace and wellbeing.
Solution:
The services provided include:
- Enhanced focus on people, workplace and wellbeing
- Maximised productivity and performance
- Specialist insight and subject matter expertise to address client’s goals and long term vision in alignment with IBOS implementation
Outcome:
In February, RICS published the International Building Operational Standard (IBOS) – A framework for assessing building performance. This standard is ground-breaking in that occupier perception and wellbeing is a central theme and a fundamental “pillar” within the standard.
Myfm has been consulted in the development of this standard and we believe that this approach creates a genuine bridge between building construction and building operation.
